News about Qlik licensing and product announcements

Newsletter_Summer2018_NewOffice

Dear  ,

It looks like 2019 is becoming a pivot year for BI. We see an accelerated adoption of Business Intelligence across the enterprise. BI is not ‘just’ the visualization tool anymore for many of our customers but has become an important change driver in many of their critical business processes.

As BI gets more mature in your company, you’ll increasingly look for better ways to streamline and simplify the data integration processes that make your data analytics ready. And we indeed see an increased interest in TimeXtender, focusing on the automation of building an analytics ready data estate.
Also BI vendors such as Qlik are now extending their portfolio, and moving towards a more complete offering, including data integration technology. The recent acquisition of Podium Data (now Qlik Data Catalog) and Attunity by Qlik is making the choice broader for you as a customer.

But we also see an important change in the role we can play for our customers. As more pieces and choices become available, the expertise to put the pieces together is essential. Trial and error costs time and money. Our role is in the first place one of an advisor for you, our customers. It's about helping you make the right choice, and putting it to work.

In a recent Data Literacy survey, 94% of respondents using data in their current role agree that data helps them do their jobs better. It is our ambition to maximize the return on your investment in analytics and turn your data into a strategic asset.

Best regards,

Gilles Hocepied

Qlik Price List Change in Europe

In line with ongoing market and pricing harmonization, Qlik will increase prices in EURO starting January 1, 2020 by 10%.

As currencies continue to fluctuate globally, Qlik monitors these movements and trends, adjusting in different regions where necessary to ensure a pricing equality. The continued low value valuation of these currencies against the United States Dollar is the reason Qlik must rationalize the pricing, closing the delta between currencies. The existing list prices for purchases in EURO will only be valid until December 31st, 2019. Customers with existing contractual agreements with fixed pricing elements will not be impacted by these price changes.

3-year subscription contracts closed before December 31, 2019 guarantee the current pricing. Certain existing 1-year subscription contracts can be potentially converted into 2- or 3-year subscription contracts. Contact your account manager or click here.

Climber_vizlib

Vizlib acquires Climber Extensions

Read on if you’re using (free) Climber extensions in your Qlik Sense applications.

Until recently, Climber extensions for Qlik Sense could be downloaded and used for free. In April 2019, Vizlib has acquired Climber Extensions, and started offering these extensions as subscription packages.

If you are using a free version of the Climber extensions, you can continue to use them, but you might run into problems when upgrading to a new Qlik Sense version. Alternatively, you can buy a subscription to the extensions you’re using so you don’t run into problems when upgrading to a new Qlik Sense version. For more information you can contact your account manager or click here.

If you are currently using extensions or planning to do so, make sure to sign up for our Qlik Sense extensions webinar.

Data warehouse automation

When you’re using Qlik, you now have another option to get your data prepared for analytics

To lead in the digital age, where real-time insights and decisions are critical, everyone in your business needs easy access to the latest and most accurate data. Based on the size of your company and the maturity of your analytics architecture, Qlik users now have several options to chose from:

  • Smaller companies can use Qlik QVDs for archiving, without a data warehouse. Eventually, Qlik Data Catalyst for QVDs, a brand-new solution, can help you organize your QVD files.
  • TimeXtender is a good solution for medium sized companies with multiple data sources and multiple developers. Discovery Hub provides a data management platform for building a modern data estate.
  • Larger organizations can now use Attunity, recently acquired by Qlik. It provides analytics-ready data by automating real-time data streaming, refinement, cataloging and publishing.

Are you interested to know more about any of those solutions? Contact your account manager or click here.
